Terms of Service

1. Who we are

Business Data Laboratory (“Business Data Laboratory”, “we”, “us” or “our”) provides data and analytics training, consulting and advisory services, delivered in part through the website at businessdatalaboratory.com(the “Site”). By accessing the Site, enrolling in a course, or otherwise using our services (together, the “Services”), you agree to these Terms of Service (the “Terms”). If you do not agree, do not use the Services.

2. Eligibility and accounts

You must be at least 18 years old, or the age of majority in your jurisdiction, to purchase our Services. Where you enrol on behalf of an organization, you confirm you are authorized to bind that organization to these Terms.

We use passwordless sign-in: you access your account through a secure link sent to your email address. You are responsible for keeping access to that email address secure and for all activity that takes place under your account. Tell us promptly if you believe your account has been used without your authorization.

3. Enrollment, courses and licence

When you enrol in a course we grant you a limited, personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable licence to access the course materials for your own learning. Unless we state otherwise in writing, access is for a single named learner and may not be shared, resold, sublicensed, or used to train competing programs.

Course content, curricula, schedules, cohort dates and instructors may change. We aim to deliver the outcomes and scope described at the point of sale, but we may make reasonable substitutions of equivalent value.

4. Fees, payment and taxes

Fees are stated at checkout and are payable in the currency shown. Payments are processed by third-party payment providers (currently Paystack and Flutterwave); by paying, you also agree to the relevant provider’s terms. We do not store your full card details. Prices may include, or be exclusive of, applicable taxes as indicated at checkout, and you are responsible for any taxes not collected by us.

5. Refunds and cancellations

Unless a specific refund window is stated for the course you purchased, or a right of cancellation is required by applicable law, course fees are non-refundable once access to the materials or the live cohort has begun. Where a refund does apply, it will be made to the original payment method. If we cancel a cohort before it begins, you may choose a transfer to a later cohort or a full refund. 6. Acceptable use

You agree not to:

• copy, record, redistribute, publish or resell course materials except as expressly permitted;
• share your access credentials or allow others to use your enrollment;
• attempt to gain unauthorized access to the Site, other accounts, or our systems, or interfere with their normal operation;
• use the Services for any unlawful purpose or in breach of these Terms.

We may suspend or terminate access, without refund, where these Terms are breached.

7. Intellectual property

The Site and all course materials, including text, video, code, datasets, templates, graphics and the Business Data Laboratoryname and logo, are owned by us or our licensors and are protected by intellectual property laws. Except for the licence granted in section 3, no rights are transferred to you. Work you create during a course — for example your own analyses, notebooks and portfolio projects — remains yours.

8. Third-party tools and links

Our courses reference and may require third-party software and platforms (for example R, Python, Power BI, DHIS2 and Quarto). We do not control those tools, and your use of them is governed by their own terms. Links to third-party sites are provided for convenience and are not endorsements.

9. Disclaimers

The Services are provided on an “as is” and “as available” basis. While we work hard to deliver high-quality training, we do not warrant any particular career, certification, financial or employment outcome. To the fullest extent permitted by law, we disclaim all implied warranties.

10. Limitation of liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, Business Data Laboratory will not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special or consequential loss, or for loss of profits, revenue or data. Our total liability arising out of or in connection with the Services will not exceed the amount you paid to us for the Service giving rise to the claim in the twelve months before the event in question. Nothing in these Terms excludes liability that cannot be excluded by law.

11. Indemnity

You agree to indemnify and hold Business Data Laboratory harmless from claims, losses and expenses arising from your misuse of the Services or breach of these Terms.

12. Changes to these Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. When we do, we will revise the effective date above and, where changes are material, take reasonable steps to notify you. Continued use of the Services after changes take effect constitutes acceptance of the updated Terms.

13. Governing law

These Terms are governed by the laws of the Federal Republic of Nigeria, and the courts of that jurisdiction will have jurisdiction over any dispute, without prejudice to any mandatory consumer-protection rights available to you where you live.
